Job Description

Reporting Manager: Head of Operational HR
Human Resources Department
Hours: 37
Location: Brentwood. Frequent travel is an element of this role

Primary Responsibility.

Act as a key strategic member of the Document Printing (DP), Production Printing (PP) and Software and Professional Services (S&PS) management team, providing proactive and professional HR Business Partnering support and advice. Responsibilities include designing, implementing and monitoring human resource activities to best achieve the organisations objectives. This includes management development; maximising employee engagement; performance management; talent management; delivering the right compensation and benefits programmes; improving employee retention; developing and maintaining a diverse work force.

Main Duties

Business Partnering

?Meet regularly with the Business Unit Directors to diagnose the people enablers / disablers of success and implement action plans.
?Attend BU management meetings to develop the HR strategy in line with the different BU objectives
?Design and implement optimal people management processes to achieve the HR strategy
?Challenge and support the Business Unit Directors with people decisions
?Assist in the development / updating and implementation of policies and procedures
?Conduct risk evaluations and take steps to ensure the BU?s retain high impact employees
?Manage a series of HR projects and assist other HR Business Partners with the development and operationalisation of projects within the BU?s
?Demonstrate an enthusiastic and committed approach, whilst displaying a confident and assertive manner. To assist in creating and maintaining a working atmosphere which engenders teamwork.

Advice and Support

?Act as one of the main points of contact in relation to all internal/external HR enquiries
?Take a pro-active approach in advising managers on development in best practice, and statutory changes.

Resourcing

?Work closely with the Internal Recruitment Consultant to ensure suitable candidates are appointed within budget and agreed timescale for all Business Units.

Performance Management

?Ensure managers are competent at administering performance evaluations effectively and on time.
?Assist managers in identifying over and under ? performers and take steps to maintain a high performing culture

Training and Development

?Work with the Training Manager to facilitate training and development needs of employees within agreed timescales and budgets
?Ensure personal development plans (PDP?s) are addressed following performance evaluations

Employee Relations

Transfer managerial capability in the following area:
?Absence
?Disciplinary & Grievance
?Guiding and assisting managers on strategic and operational employee issues
?Developing the skills base of the senior management population
?Creation of toolkits

Key Skills Required

?CIPD qualified
?Up to date knowledge of current and new employment law
?Ability to forge strong partnerships both internally and externally
?IT literate operating Microsoft Office
?Initiative to develop the solution to fit business needs
?Confidential and diplomatic
?Good time management and organisational skills
?Effective communication skills ? both written and oral
