COMMENTARY| There was a joke posted on Twitter about Detroit Lions CB Aaron Berry?s latest run-in with the law.
In jest, a Twitter user said that Berry would receiver a bonus from the Lions for reaching his off-season arrest quota.

For the second time during the offseason ? again in his hometown of Harrisburg, Penn., no less ? Berry was taken into custody by police. The first incident, a DUI offense in late June, generated enough talk among Lions fans that suggested he was no longer welcome in the Motor City.
Now, after the second offense ? one for ?brandishing a firearm? and reportedly aiming it at three people ? Lions fans are done. They?re absolutely fed up with Berry?s antics. And they should be. Previous arrests of other players like Nick Fairley, Mikel Leshoure and Johnny Culbreath doesn?t help Berry?s cause. He won?t get any sympathy from Detroit followers for making a second ? and very serious ? mistake, either.
Guns are no laughing matter. Neither is drunk driving. Granted, Fairley was pulled over for reckless driving and attempting to elude police while under the influence, allegedly. But fans are forgiving, to an extent; it was his first DUI with the Lions. His earlier marijuana charge wasn?t a huge deal in the eyes of Lions followers, either. ?It was just pot,? some said.
But Berry is exhibiting self-destructive behavior well beyond the realm of youthful ignorance. He allegedly hit cars while driving under the influence in June and attempted to flee on foot afterward. There were rumors posted on a message board Sunday saying that Berry essentially held three people at gun point over the weekend. Those rumors were somewhat confirmed by ProFootballTalk.com.
Anthony Pinzone, a Miami Dolphins blogger on Phinfever, claims that Berry nearly hit his party?s vehicle Saturday night outside a bar in Harrisburg. Pinzone called the contact with Berry ?crazy,? and wrote about it Sunday. He also claims that Berry pointed a gun in his direction.
A suspension is on the horizon for Berry, the Lions? projected starter at cornerback. And if fans have their way, it will be a lengthy and costly hiatus. But they want one better ? some fans are past suspension talk. They want Berry out of Detroit.
What are you views on Berry?s alleged incident? Should the Lions kick him off the team? If not, how long of a suspension should he receive? Leave your feedback in the comments section.
